Gaming in the classroom
I have never used powerpoint games in the classroom. If this turns out being what I think it is; I will probably try to create some type of robotic simulation involving movement and directional motion (vectors, geometry, etc.). The purpose would be for my students to actually create the paths for robots before actually having it built and programmed. I think this would prove very useful.

Hi Victor,
Have tried low/no tech games in the classroom? If so how have the students responded.
Thanks
TG
Hey tre,
I haven't tried any games in the classroom. This is a first (among many) for me. I'll let you know in a month or so after I figure out how to create one.

Victor,
With your instructional setting, there is so much potential with what you can do with games and simulations. I like the example you gave with creating a robotic simulation and even moreso, having your students come up with the way the robot will be built prior to putting it together and programming it. Great way of getting them to use higher order skills! :)
Sincerely,
Duaa
Hi Duaa,
You are absolutely right about the "toys" that I have available for classroom use. My biggest problem in my few years here have been finding the time to explore and use them. (Hopefully this will change shortly). Thanks for the comment.

mr.williams that power point gaming sounds interesting do u think we will be able to try this in class one day?
I didn't know PowerPoint had games, Mr. Williams. You should let the class try it all together one day.
I THINK WE SHOULD TRY IT IN CLASS IT MIGHT JUST BE FUN.
I Think we should Try IT Sometime and class
Hey favorite Teacher
I think this is very interesting, we should try it. But, you have to look at what students want. So they can participate.
